Carla Haase, M. Ed.

Carla Haase is an experienced facilitator, trainer and coach and has been a Senior Consultant for GPS for over 5 years. She has extensive experience designing and developing training programs and facilitated meetings for a number of multi-national corporations including: GE and GE Crotonville, UBS, Honeywell, HSBC, Bayer Healthcare, BP and many more. Carla specializes in Leadership Development and has designed and led programs both internally as an employee at GE, and externally as a faculty member and consultant for Fortune 50 companies. She has unique sensitivities for the global business environment due to her extensive experience delivering leadership training globally, including: USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, multiple European locations, India, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and China.

Approach: Starting at square one, Carla can survey an organization's training and learning needs and then propose solutions--from design and development through to delivery. In addition to having a Master's degree in adult learning, Carla has extensive program and instructional design experience; and she has a real knack for designing and delivering training and meetings that are relevant, engaging, dynamic and memorable for participants at all levels in organizations. Carla can create new programs from scratch, update existing courseware, or enthusiastically deliver established internal programs.

  1. Leadership Development/Personal Awareness: Carla served on the faculty of GE Crotonville where she has worked for many years to train top GE talent. She has extensive experience teaching subjects like self-awareness (MBTIŪ and Social Styles), personal values and personal branding, interpersonal communications, team-building, conflict management, negotiations, influence, and other related subjects. Additionally, Carla is consistently one of the top-rated external faculty members for UBS' Management Skills course. The program is delivered in tandem with a two person team of internal and external trainers.
  2. Coaching: Carla's coaching practice is primarily focused on follow-up related to in-session use of feedback tools including MBTIŪ, 360 assessments, Social Styles and other related instruments. She also has significant experience using the New Manager Assimilation tool as a basis for coaching and has conducted numerous sessions of this important on-boarding practice.
  3. Presentation Skills and Executive Communications: Carla has 10+ years experience delivering classroom training in Executive Presentation Skills. She led rollouts at HSBC Securities for Presentation Skills and Interviewing Skills. She is also a skilled personal executive coach, helping individuals prepare for specific high-impact presentations. Her undergraduate degree in communications coupled with several years of experience as a media relations specialist gives her a unique ability to prep executives to deliver on-target, impactful messages time after time.

  4. Meeting Management: Carla is a skilled facilitator and has several years experience facilitating and working with large groups. Carla's meeting management skills include agenda creation, large-scale team building exercises, large-scale problem-solving (including use of GE's WorkOut tools), facilitation and emceeing, and meeting follow through. Carla was hired to manage and facilitate regular meetings for BP's Procurement group over a four-year period. Additionally, she led a successful strategic re-alignment meeting for over 120 sales execs from Varian Medical.

Professional Accomplishments & Work Experience: Prior to her consultancy, Carla held several Program Management roles at GE in Leadership Development and Training, including a role as Program Manager for Emerging Leader Education at GE Crotonville. Earlier in her GE career, she worked in Employee Communications and then as a Media Relations spokesperson at GE's corporate headquarters in Fairfield, Conn. She started her career at GE Aircraft Engines in Rutland, VT.

Education and Certifications: Carla holds a Masters Degree from Fordham University Graduate School of Education, with a specialization in Human Resources and Adult Learning. Earlier, she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Syracuse University with dual degrees in Public Relations and Art History. She was the university's finalist for both the Rhodes and Marshall scholarships.

She was qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type IndicatorŪ in 1995 and recently earned the distinction of MBTI Master Practitioner - only the 68th person in North America to hold this title.

While at GE, Carla earned Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
